Marina Barrage

Mummy has always wanted to bring us to Marina Barrage to fly kite and have a picnic but plans were always put aside. Though today there is no kite flying or picini, we were there for a while before heading to Marina Square for dinner.

I am taking photos using the new disney camera mummy bought for us. Often, when mummy took out the camera to take photos of us, I will want to take the camera and take photos of Claryce instead. So now I have my own disney minnie camera, mummy dont have to worry that her camera is being snatched from me.

It has been quite some time we have a family photo taken together.

Marina Bay Sands

Thanks to uncle Paul for bringing us as guests to the newly opened Marina Bay Sands. Uncle Paul got a free room in MBS for being a gold member in the Casino. As such, we can go to the sky garden for free and swim in the infinity pool.

When we were on the way to MBS, we saw gigantic and colourful kites. There was a big crowd. We realise it was Kite Festival today. There were activities going on but we didnt stop to join in.

After viewing the scenery and sky scrapers from the 57th level, we quickly get change to our swim wear. Coincidently, we saw Janelle and her parents! That's so nice, cos I will have a swimming companion.

Janelle is definitely braver than me. I was reluctant to go near the edge of the pool as the water in the infinity pool seems to end in a sheer drop, Mummy assured me that swimming to the edge wont be as risky as it looks. The water actually spills into a catchment area where it is pumped back into the main pool.

Claryce is reluctant to swim towards the edge of the infinity pool. She enjoys her time splashing and playing with the water at the steps of the pool.

A Day @ Sentosa

A Day @ Sentosa

Today we were out to Sentosa with my grandparents, Glen and Adeline. We wanna take the new cable car and also head down to the beach.

When we were about to reach Sentosa, I told gong gong that I wanna take tram instead of cable car. So we parked at Vivo City, then take a tram to Sentosa. It was a long queue at the tram station. Since today is also a public holiday, there were so many blangadesh workers going to Sentosa. Almost full of blangadesh workers in the tram! *Faint*

Our first stop was at Palawan Beach. Before reaching the beach, we saw this sky ride. Decided to try it. Queue was quite fast to get onto the ride. But when we were coming down from the hill with the luge, we queued for almost 2 hours!

It was quite a scary experience up high in the sky with our legs dangling in the air. Mummy and I were scared of heights and indeed we were frightened, hoping that we can quickly reach to the other side of the destination. Luckily I am seated with gong gong, not mummy!

When we were coming down with the luge, it was fun! Not scary but exciting!

After the rides, we head to the beach, just minutes away. We had such a great time at the beach. Building sandcastles, playing with the sea water, running around on the sand . . .

Time passes so fast, it was late in the evening. Time for dinner and back home ....

YOG at T3

YOG @ T3

Glen gu gu and Adeline are going to Europe again (Yes, again.. they just went few months back and are going again cos its a free trip won!), mummy fetched them to the airport. At the same time, we can go to the airport to have fun. Yes, we love visiting the airport. We love Popeyes food, we love to take the sky train, car rides and we love the kids play area at T3.

As this week concide with Youth Olympics Games held in Singapore, there are on going sports activities held in Terminal 3.

Attracted by the medal that many have won in the soccer station, I wanna get one too. So mummy asked Aunty Yuli to join the game. It was a soccer game where the players will kick the ball into the goal post (machine). Hee.. after 3 tries, Aunty Yuli scored above 500 points to get the medal for me. After watching the players, we realise the harder you kick the ball, the lower points will be awarded. Hmm.. ..

After gathering at Rochester Playhouse, mummy send me back to Gong Gong house to take a nap, and Claryce proceed to her class.

This week theme is Red and White - National Day. Parents and kiddos are encouraged to wear red and white to class. There is also class photo taking session.

National Day Gathering

Gathering @ Rochester Park Cafe

One sunny sunday morning, we started our day at Rochester Park Cafe. It was a gathering for the mommies and the little ones. Since its gathering near to national day, the theme is to dress up in red and white.

The breakfast buffet starts at 9am to 1130m. Its another early gathering. Mummy thought it might be a struggle for me to wake up early today since I slept at 1plus am last night. Surprisingly, I managed to wake up without much struggle.

Playtime with Playdates

It was the 2nd gathering at Aunty Adeline's house. She inivited us and Dec thread forum mommies over for a swim and play session. Whenever there are gatherings in the morning, it will be quite a challenge for us to wake up early cos we are late sleepers and risers. But never to expect we were the first to arrive. Haha.

It was a potluck session so all the mommies brought different types of food over. During the makan session, the mummies were chatting happily while daddies were watching over the kids at the play corner.

Aunty Adeline was really thoughtful and nice to rent toys for us. There were a slide, safari ball pit and train ride. The train ride was a hit among the kiddos! It was so cool and fun. We can actually sit on the train and take a ride round and round. Aunty Adeline mentioned that the rental was $80 for 2 weeks. Quite cheap right. Haha.. Claryce and I are thinking of asking mummy to rent for us!

Its swimming time! Weather was good. In fact quite windy. While mommy is trying to capture both of us in the photo, guess what? Claryce fell into the pool!! Gosh. Must have frightened her that she refused to go into the pool after that.

Thanks Adeline for such a warm host. The kiddos had a great time!

Bubbles Show By Fan Yang

Mummy brought me to bubble show on 20 June. Just one day after papa left overseas for work. We wanted to buy tickets on 19 June but was all taken. Thus papa couldnt join us for this bubble show. We checked out with Aunty Jammie if she is keen to bring Julian for the show and we decided to go together. Aunty Jammie went to Lot 1 sistic to get the tickets for us. Unfortunately, on the day, Julian hasnt recovered from fever, thus was unable to join us. Luckily, uncle Glen and Adeline were able to make it and came along with us.

It was quite an interesting show by Fan Yang. I saw many different types of bubbles formed from a single bubble. Bubbles were so huge that 10 kids can be in one bubble. Bubbles were formed to a rainbow, hat, etc.

The last part of the bubble show was by Fan Yang's son. A Laser Show! I couldnt really appreciate it. Haha..

Father's Day

Father's Day has been quite sometime back but mummy didnt have the time to post. We had a simple father's day celebration for papa on 18 June. Uncle Paul joined in cos he brought us to his friend restaurant for dinner. After dinner, we headed to Vivo City for shopping and by the time we were back home, it was really late. Nevertheless, we are still awake for cake cutting and eating.

Papa is back!

After 2 weeks, papa is back in SG again. Thats because we are attending Uncle Roger's wedding on 2 July. Papa gonna stay for only 3 days and he will be back to work overseas.

Early in the morning @ Airport

Papa is leaving today and we woke up very early in the morning to send him to the airport. At the same time, nai nai is going to Taiwan for Chi Tzi mission trip and her flight also conicides in the same morning. So in order not to make another trip to airport, we went to airport early. In fact, Claryce and I were asleep and woke up only when we were carried to the car. We can spend the time shopping in T2 and T3 (shops are open from 7am to 11pm) and take sky trains too.

Rides @ T3

Here we are at the kiddy rides again. Papa is back today and we are going to fetch him! Airport has been our bi-monthly place to go cos whenever papa is back, we will follow mummy to pick him up from the airport.

Mummy brought us for kiddy rides @ T3 since we are early. See, the gigantic hippo I am riding in. Initially I was reluctant to ride on it as I felt a little intimidated by the big size and teeth. Then after a while, I am ok with it.

Pink Car.. is the one I chose. Mummy is thinking why not the BMW which look more cool and mei mei can also ride with me as it is a 2 seater car?

It has been quite sometime I met up with Yu Fei and Julian. Since its holidays, aunty Jammie and mummy thought of bringing us to Fidgets. Yu Fei and Yu Qi were able to join us too. The more the merrier!

A visit to Qian Hu Fish Farm

It was an impromptu trip to Qian Hu Fish Farm today. Usually we will wake up late during the weekends but for today we were awake at 9plus which is consider early for us. So gong gong brought us to Qian Hu Fish Farm. Weather was quite good, not sunny or rainy, just right for outdoor activities.

The Wiggles Circus Show

The Wiggles.. anyone know them? I got to know the wiggles when I started to watch their dvd 3 months back. Was at Isetan private sale with mummy, and the tv was showing the wiggles at the children department. Caught my attention and bought the dvd. That was how I got to know them.

Now that The Wiggles are in Singapore, Adeline's brother got 4 free tickets for us to watch! Initially had asked Aunty Jammie and Julian along, but was kind of rush for them to go as they have church service on the same day. So mummy brought Claryce and Aunty Yuli along. It was Claryce's first show in Singapore Indoor Stadium. The circus show was quite good in fact. Was really entertaining!

Claryce had attended 10 weeks of lessons at JG since March. On 26 May, it was the last day of Term 2. A theme party marks the end of the term! Whats the theme? ANIMALS! Parents and children are encouraged to wear animal theme wear.

Carol 姑姑 and Trevor 姑丈 were here in Singapore on 24 May to 28 May. We were so happy to see them! They bought lots of presents for us. (All our presents are in 1 big lugguage bag!). Our lovely presents are story books, GAP Shortsleeve PJs, Carters dresses....

I Can Read

Mummy is pleasantly surprised that I am able to recognise a number of chinese words. After meet the parents session yesterday, Yang Lao Shi showed the chinese worksheets that I had to mummy. She told mummy that I am able to recognise these chinese words through the cards (Chinese word on each laminated card).

Mummy wanna test me on my chinese words recognition, so this evening, she decides to type the word and print on a paper and paste it on a card. Then laminate the card. But it seem quite an hassle, so mummy thought of another way. Type the word in MS PowerPoint. Yes, within minutes, the whole series of words are typed in each slide. Then she tested me from slide 1 to slide 32 (1 chinese word on 1 slide). Wow! She was surprised that I am able to recognise most of these words!!!! The words are 小我他她是对也。。。。。 all randomly picked.

JG Swimming

It has been 7 weeks since Claryce started her class with JG. There are different play sessions every week; playground, sand play, water play and swimming. 2 weeks out of 10 weeks are reserved for swimming. For the past swimming lessons, Claryce has missed it cos she was down with runny nose. This time round which is the last swimming week, she wouldnt want to miss out the fun with her classmates.

Presenting my card to mummy! Happy Mother's Day! I colured the words and sprinkle 'hearts' and 'stars' onto the big heart. I told mummy I used tissue, dipped with colours and tap it on the heart shaped.

Fun Rides @ T3

Since today is school holiday and mummy need not report for work, she brought us to the airport. Papa is back? When mummy mentions going to the airport, I will think that papa is back. Not to pick papa today but to go for rides @ T3. Heard from Aunty Kath and Aunty Joyce that there are rides @ T3 for children, so mummy decided to bring us there.

The rides are located at Terminal 3, Basement Car Park 2. Mei mei and I get really excited when we saw huge animal rides and different types of cars when we stepped out of the car. The place was not crowded but was not air conditioned. I didnt really bother if its air conditioned but mummy felt it gets hot after a while there. Perhaps she is busy running around to take pictures of us, thats why she can feel the heat.

Mei mei didnt get to ride on her own as she is too young for her age. So she rides it with either of us.

Joelle's 1st Birthday Party

We were invited to Joelle's 1st Birthday Celebration. When mummy tells me about going to party, the two things in my mind are balloons and goodie bags!

When we reached the party venue, I saw Elmo and Big Bird balloon walker. Was looking out for Dora when mummy told me the theme of Joelle's party is seasme street.

After fun at United Square, we head down to Vivo City. We never get tired of the water play, play area and rides @ Vivo City. Its our favourite hangout place. Papa brought Ye ye to Universal Studio and Resort World Casino to take a look while we were at the playground at Vivo City with mummy, nai nai and Aunty Yuli.

Baby Championship

Papa and Ye ye is back on 16 Apr! But we didnt go pick them up at the airport cos the timing clashes with Claryce's Brisk Walking Competition.

Mummy registered Claryce in this Brisk Walking Competition held at United Square. Was quite lucky that she got selected to be one of the contestants. There are two rounds, preliminary round and final round held on 16 Apr and 17 Apr respectively. Claryce got into the final round after being the 2nd fastest timing. But did not manage to win any medals for the top 3 in the final round. She got a consolation prize consisting of a Lego Set and $10 United Square Voucher.

Dora and Diego

Know what is my current favourite character now? Its DORA, the explorer! (Mummy knows my theme birthday celebration this year end will definitely be Dora).

After polliwogs on 3 Apr, we head to Suntec Convention Hall to get up close with Dora. (Aunty Joyce shared with us that Dora and Diego will be there) It was an anniversary fair organised by StarHub. The queue to take photo with Dora and Diego was quite short, and within minutes, its my turn to meet Dora and Diego. Before taking photo with Dora, I was shouting 'Hello Dora, Hello Dora'. When on stage, I was really excited to hold Dora's hands and grab her huge hands to hold. After photo taking, I kept waving to Dora and say 'Bye Bye Dora'.

At ToyRus, I was sound asleep.. Claryce mei mei was shopping for toys and this little doll caught her attention.

Polliwogs

This week was a short school week for me cos my school was closed on Wed and Thu for teacher's training day. Fri was a public holiday. Since there was no school for me on wed and thu, mummy says why not ask my friends, Julian and Yu Fei out. After much smsing, our mummies fixed today for a playdate at Polliwogs. We have not been there, so was really excited to go there.

When we reached there, the staff informed us that the air con broke down. Oh! Despite this, we still go ahead with our plans as we come all the way from the west to the east.

After 15 minutes of play, the play area was kind of warm and stuffy. But this didnt really affect us. Only our mummies were complaining but not us. Claryce was sleeping throughout and woke up when the 1.5hrs playtime ended. Thus she missed out having fun with us.

Story Books

Mummy commented that Claryce loves us to read stories to her. This is indeed true cos Claryce always walk around with a story book on her hand, and will 'ask' us to read to her. Last night when mummy is on the computer and turned around to check what Claryce is doing, she realise she took out the story books and started to read (or rather look). See, her legs are all covered by the books.

Mummy has signed Claryce for JG class since last August but deferred till this term. Now that she is 16 mths old, mummy feels that she can relate better and enjoy these enrichment lessons. She is in playnest, attending twice weekly in the afternoons. Today is Claryce 3rd lesson. So far, she seems to enjoy the lessons especially outdoor activities. But at times she prefer to observe what her classmates do more than she pays attention in class.

Zoo Zoo Zoo . . .

Mummy brought us to the zoo on Fri, Sat and Sun!. 3 days in the zoo .. so that we will not be tired out with so many activities and programmes in a day.

(Since we are using Glen Gu Gu zoo pass, we dont have to pay for the admission fee)

DAY 1

Zebras and Giraffe

Otters! Claryce mei mei first got to know this animal through the animal flashcard learnt at home.

DAY 2 - A rainy day. See, Claryce mei mei is in her raincoat.

We were looking forward to the animal shows but was cancelled due to the wet weather. Feeling disappointed, we wouldnt want to miss it tomorrow if the weather is good.

Didnt want to waste our day .. we decided to go for a boat ride. The tour guide introduced and showed us the skin of a monitor lizard and snake. I wouldnt dare to touch any. Claryce mei mei was brave enough to touch and feel the skin of the snake. Haha.. maybe that because she dont know what she is touching.

Day 3

Waiting for the elephant show. Weather was hot today!

Yeah. Finally! I really enjoyed the show. The elephants can take instructions very well. I watched them turn to their left, turn to their right, salute, carry logs ... during the show.

Animals in Rainforest show. This show is interesting too but wished there were more animals performing. We sat near to the hanging rope where I could see the monkey swinging in.

After the animal shows, we went to Kidzworld. Claryce mei mei was asleep then. So I have to be alone for this water play. Didnt stay in the water for long as the guards chase all of us away as we could hear thunder.

Its goats feeding time. I threw the slices of carrot to the goat instead of feeding them.

Upclose with giraffe! Got really close with giraffe till I am scared! Paid $5 for a small pail of carrots to feed the giraffe.

I like kangaroo the most! I am not afraid of the kangaroos. I pat and stroke their back and feed them with its food.

Disney on Ice

It seems that my march holidays had just started. Today, we went for Disney on Ice show, will be going to zoo the next 2 days.

Thanks to Ade's bro, Melvin, for the tickets to Disney on Ice. He got 4 complimentary tickets through channel news asia.

Mummy wanna bring Claryce along but she dont need a ticket as children under 2 years of age do not require a ticket for admission. 3 tics are required only; Mummy, me and Aunty Yuli. Thus she thought of bringing Julian along. With aunty Jammie permission, Julian will come along without aunty Jammie presence. So brave of him right! However, after some thoughts, mummy feel that Claryce wont be able to sit throughout the show for 2 hours. So why not ask aunty Jammie and Julian along. Better idea right!

An evening @ T3

Nai nai is going to Taiwan for a few days and we are sending her to the airport. Mummy drove her to the airport, with Claryce and Aunty Yuli in the car. Guess how do I get to the airport? I took MRT with my grandparents to the airport. As the first time I took an MRT was one year plus ago ( a few stops from chinese garden mrt to boon lay mrt), I told gong gong I wanna take MRT to the airport. (Whenever I am in the car and sees MRT, I will ask mummy eagerly when can I take MRT) . Gong gong decides not to drive but to take MRT with me. Mummy drove us to JE station and we took MRT from JE to Airport, then sky train to T1.

Thanks to Aunty Fabbie for organising this water splash session at her place. Mummy didnt bring me along as she thinks that I may feel bored as all the playmates are Claryce's friends. Moreover I am almost in dreamland at 230pm.

Claryce enjoyed herself. So were all her playmates; Ashlynne, Clarice, Summer, Danielle, Kayson and Zach. There were 3 pools for the toddlers. Claryce seems to like the big blue pool. I think thats because she finds it safer in the pool as there is no water splashing on her face or body if she moves around. Haha!

At the same time, mummy also chatted with Mr Lee, who is her ex colleague. Such a coincidence right? Aunty Fabbie's dad is mummy ex colleague in her previous school. Mummy got to know this some time back when mummy visited Clarice's blog and saw Mr Lee's photo.

Dinner at Forrest @ OrchirdVille

Since its the last day of CNY, we thought of dining out. Where to is always the question? We didnt want to travel somewhere far so thought of going to Forrest @ Orchirdville since we have not been there. Forrest @ Orchirdville restaurant is a rainforest-themed restaurant with canopies of overhanging tree branches, flower blooms and beautiful landscaping for guests to enjoy while they dine. The restaurant is more popular for solemnisation and wedding functions. It wasnt crowded when we were there for dinner. Food was quite good. Prices were quite expensive but when the final bill came to us, there wasnt any service charge so this saved quite abit off the bill.

There were a huge tiger, Rhino and many small elephant statues at the entrance of the restaurant. No wonder its named Forrest restaurant.

Claryce is 15 mths old today. At this age, we observed that she can do the following:

walks steadily and run
speaks only a few words
recognises animal and insects pictures
touches her forehead when we say 'Oh dear'
acts cute when we say 'smile'
goes to the potty and tries to sit on it when we say go 'shi shi'
takes her shoes when we say go 'gai gai'
waves her hands when we say 'Hello' and 'Bye Bye'
kisses us on our cheeks or lips when we say 'kiss kiss'
knows where is her head, nose, ears and hair

There should be more things that she can do but this is what I can think of now. Hee..

Glad that Claryce mei mei has fully recovered from HFMD. With 10 blisters on her feet, 1 blister on her hand and 4 uclers on her tongue, these start to disappear in the 3rd day. Fortunately Claryce still can drink, eat and sleep well. By now, all the uclers and blisters have disappeared. Phew!

On the first day, we had done most of our visiting. We were so tired that on the 2nd day, we rested at home and went out only at night to Sentosa. On the 3rd day, Aunty Katrina invited us over to her place, then we headed down to River Hong Bao. I was very curious at the vortex ride which spin 360 degrees and the huge carousel for adults. There were also rides and games for kids like us. I had so much fun at Uncle Ringo Fun Fair. Loves the bouncy castles and carousel.

Mummy is glad that I am recovering well from HFMD. My case was very mild. I developed a few uclers on my tongue and a few blisters on my hand and feet. My appetite was good and I slept well. In fact 2 days after confirmation on HFMD, my uclers and blisters disappeared. Today mummy brought me to see Dr Dorothy to confirm I am clear of HFMD as I need a letter from Dr to certify I am clear of HFMD so that I can attend school tomorrow.

The bad new is Claryce mei mei contacted HFMD from me! Its so contagious. Poor Claryce has quite a number of uclers on her lips and tongues, blisters on her hand and feet. Her case was much more serious than me. On Sunday, she couldnt eat and drink well and last night she was in pain as she woke up and cried around 12 plus midnight. As there isnt any medication for HFMD, the uclers and blisters will go off in 5-7 days. We are counting down to the 5th or 7th day so that Claryce can fully recover from HFMD.

Papa called mummy when she was at work early in the morning, telling her she spotted red spots with blisters on my hands and feet, uclers on my tongue. Upon hearing this, mummy suspected its HFMD. Gosh.. thinking that it has already past a week that I attended school, the chances of me contacting HFMD should be quite low as the incubation period of HFMD is three to seven days. There were 4 cases of HFMD in my nursery class and will I be the 5th one to contact HFMD??

After work, mummy and papa brought me to see Dr Dorothy Ong. Unfortunately, I was confirmed by Dr Dorothy that I contacted HFMD! She warned that in a few days, I may develop fever, runny nose and more mouth uclers. Oh no! Chinese new year has not ended yet, and I have to stay home.

Missed School for 2 Days

When my grandparents brought me to school on Thursday, they can sense that there werent many children coming in at that time. Usually at around 815-830am, the receiving area will be crowded with parents sending in their kids. Today was kind of quiet. We were told that quite a number of children are down with HFMD. 4 cases were reported in my nursery class. As advised by teacher lily, gong gong decided to bring me back home. Email was sent to parents on the cases of HFMD reported but mummy didnt check her email yesterday until yesterday at 9am, she checked her email and called gong gong. By then, we were already at gong gong's house.

Today I didnt turn up in school, not that I am down with HFMD, but to 'play safe', mummy wants me to stay home. Unfortunately, I couldnt wear my cheongsam to school for CNY celebration today. Mummy was looking forward to let me wear the red cheongsam to school but cos of the outbreak of HFMD in school, I was at home. :(

Julian 3rd Year Birthday Celebration

We were invited to Julian Birthday celebration at MacDonald's (Ridout Tea Garden - Queensway). This is the first time we attended birthday celebration at MacDonalds. Aunty Jammie had sent out the invitation card and sms asking us to inidcate the food we wanna order on that day so that the food can be served to us promptly on that day.

When we reached MacDonald's (Claryce mei mei is still asleep), all of us were given a sticker with our names. Shortly, food was served to us. Then the kids were directed to the dinning area for lunch. There were also 2 games organised during the party but I didnt join in the first game. Only got kind of 'warm up' after quite a while, then I played the 2nd game - treasure hunt.

Thanks Julian for inviting us to your party and thanks to aunty Jammie and uncle Eric for arranging this fun filled activity party! We had fun! :)

Airshow 2010

Mummy heard alot on this airshow and was thinking of bringing us there. As Glen gu gu is able to get free tickets and car pass for us, we definitely wouldnt want to miss this show which is held once every two years.

On the night before the show, mummy thought it would be better for Claryce mei mei to stay home cos for her age, she wouldnt really enjoy the show. What's more, she may be scared by the loud noise generated from the planes.

So early in the morning at 945am, we woke up to get ready and depart at 1030am. The show starts at 1130am and we reached there just in time. There was a big crowd, everyone is well prepared, with cap and sunglasses on, cameras ready. (What we forgot is to apply sunblock!)

It was a very hot and sunny morning. The heat was unbearable but we still stood there (I was sitting on the pram) for 1.5 hour to watch the amazing aerobatic stunts by the planes. It wasnt as exciting as we thought it would be. One plane at a time was flying instead of two or more planes. At certain times, I told mummy I am scared cos of the loud noise generated by the planes. After the flying display, everyone dashed to the air conditioned exhibtion centre. It was jam packed and we could only move a few steps ahead. The announcer then announces there is aircraft display on the other end, thus redirecting traffic.

At the aircraft display, there were an impressive array of jets, transport planes, helicopters and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) from as many as 20 exhibitors. As there was also a big crowd, we have to queue to take pics with the aircrafts which we didnt spend time to queue. We headed to the exhibition centre to see smaller scale aircrafts displays.

There were long queues for special simulation rides. Many wanted to experience how is it like to be a pilot in the cockpits of the newest planes, thus the queue was very long too.

As Glen gu gu company's has a booth there, we are able to get many free goodies and souvenirs. Thanks to Glen gu gu colleague, Uncle Robin too for packing for us the yummy and delicious Jap/Korean lunch . Very yummy!!

Indeed was a fun experience except for the heat we have to bear under the hot sun.

Kiddy Car Rides

Mummy chanced upon this car ride after grocery shopping. Seeing the different types and colours of the car parked along the parade square, I walked eagerly towards them, picking a big pink car. However this big pink car was meant for bigger kids, I chose the green colour car instead. We helped Claryce choose a yellow car for her. As she is too young to be able to step on the pedal and manoeuver the steering wheel so that the car can move, she has to select the remote controlled car. Aunty Yuli controls the movement of the car that Claryce sits in while I drive happily in the car by stepping on the pedal and turning the steering wheel for change of direction.

Claryce seems to be a serious driver while I am a reckless driver.

An evening @ the playcourt

Mummy brought mei mei down for a walk while I am still asleep in the evening. When mummy says go exercise or 'gai gai', mei mei will take her shoes, sit down and attempt to wear.

After putting on her shoes, mei mei walked excitedly towards the lift and reached out for the lift button. She will stand near to the lift door waiting for it to open. Mummy finds all these little actions of her so interestingly cute.

When mei mei reached the court, she starts walking quickly, attempting to run. She had so much fun throwing the tiny ball and chasing after it.

Milk Spa 4

Mummy took out some packs of frozen milk from the freezer last night and brought them to the fridge. This morning the frozen milk had defroze and Aunty Yuli warmed the milk for Claryce mei mei to shower. This is the last time mei mei gonna had a milk bath cos mummy has stopped breastfeeding and there are no more storage of frozen packs of milk. For the last 3 milk baths, mei mei didnt really know that she is bathing in a tub of milk. This time round when she saw the tub of milk, she was reluctant to bathe. She must be thinking how come the water has turn to milky colour!

Gong Gong's Birthday Dinner

We celebrated gong gong birthday today at new york new york restaurant. Claryce mei mei smiles whenever we mention to her 'Happy Birthday'. She will clap her hands and imitate blowing the candle.

The staffs come together to sing Happy Birthday song for gong gong. Seems like I am the birthday girl? I always love to sing birthday song, blow candle and cut cake, thus today I am also the centre of attention.

School Starts

Today I am well to go to school. Happily bringing my school 'luggage' bag to school, I was greeted with smiles from the teachers. With new teacher, new friends, new classroom... there are quite abit for me to accustom as I am now in Nursery.

Mummy came to pick me up at 345pm. With a surprise, Aunty Jammie came as well! Hee... mummy supposed to meet Aunty Jammie at Gong gong's place to pass her the hands me down clothes to Baby Joelle, but has forgotten. So Aunty Jammie came to meet Mummy here.

Teacher Joanne told mummy I am adjusting well tho I did cry alittle when I was about to take a shower. But still, everything went well so far..

Full Day Child Care

Full Day Child Care

On 2 Jan onwards, I will be in school from 830am to 530pm. As the school fees of half day child care and full day child care differs by $30 only, mummy decides to put me on full day. Not only I can learn more things in the afternoon lessons, mummy can pick me up anytime after lunch rather than the constraint by 1pm (Half day). Also, I can learn to be more independent. Though the lessons in the noon are beneficial to me, mummy have never thought of putting me from 830am to 5pm DAILY. Mummy or Gong Gong intends to pick me up at 1pm on most of the days and at 530pm for 2 days in a week.

My response was: Yes I want! At times, No I dun want! We packed the school bag together, placing a mattress cover, bath towel, tooth brush, tooth paste, mug, comb, 2 set of P.E attire into my bag.

However for the first few days when school started, I didnt attend school as I was down with cough. Thus I stayed home. Most likely will be back to school tomorrow :)

I am unwell

Since New Year Eve, I am down with fever. With fever hovering around 39 to 41 degrees, I am feeling cranky and loss of appetite. Papa has left Singapore for work. So only mummy is taking care of me. Claryce was brought to Gong Gong's house as my viral infection is contagious. We miss Claryce very very much!!!

Mummy hope that I get well soon so that we can go back to Gong Gong's house.

Zackery Birthday Celebration

I was invited to Zackery birthday celebration in our school. As my stay in the school is from 830am to 1230pm, I will not be able to attend his birthday celebration at 3pm. Zachery's mummy spoke to our teacher if I could attend and teacher Sheerena said Yes! But with one parent accompanying as my insurance was not covered if I am in school in the noon. Thus, mummy accompanied me to zack's celebration.

Roger's ROM

Roger's Gu Gu ROM was a special one. His ROM was held together with his charity organisation at Japanese Garden. Guest of honour: Mr Lim Boon Heng, MP for Jurong GRC was invited too. Roger gu gu is a compassionate and kind adult who goes all the way out to help the children and the aged by donating $ and his time. His efforts were recognised by the organisation and a sourvenir was also awarded to him on that day. The kids from P1 to P6 were invited to his ROM. Mummy did a little by buying gifts for 41 kids and handed them to the kiddos during his ROM. Roger Gu Gu bought the kids the gifts that they wished for. Wow.. all 41 gifts are all different!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHANNYN (Part 2)

I had the second part of my birthday celebration at godmother's house. Close relatives were invited. Food was cooked by godmother's mummy. Thank You!Mummy ordered Elmo Jelly from Mrs Chan and bought swensens ice cream cake for me. Since I had elmo cake in the morning celebration and there's no elmo design ice cream cake from Swensens, I chose Pooh Bear design.

Thanks everyone for the lovely presents and big ang baos. Mummy bought me lots of clothes. Papa bought me thomas the train set as he commented that I have almost all the girly toys, so for a change, bought me a boy boy toy. Yes, my first Thomas the Train set! My Ah Yees all helped to set up the thomas the train set and after setting up, we really had fun watching the train moves, dumps and hauls the 'rocks' and the lorry scoops and loads to Thomas Loading Station. Really very fun! The adults fell in love with this Thomas Big Loader Set!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHANNYN (Part 1)

This year birthday celebration for me will not be an elaborate one. It will be a simple celebration with my classmates and my family. As I spent most of my mornings with my classmates in school, mummy decides to hold my birthday celebration in school.

As mummy asked me what theme birthday celebration I wished for, I told her Elmo! At that time, she was thinking hard where to get Elmo Cake. Thanks to Aunty Jammie for suggesting Polar Cakes as they sell licensed Elmo design cake. Other than Elmo cake, mummy got me Elmo Treat Bags, Elmo Stick Balloon, Elmo Stationery set for my classmates and of cos Elmo Table Cover to make it complete.

A Day out

Papa is back today! For my birthday celebration tomorrow and also to spend the new year eve with us. After picking him from airport, we headed to Paragon to shop, dine and play. Mummy love to shop there, papa love to dine there and we love to play at the indoor play ground.

Zach and Ashlynne 1st Year Birthday

This weekend was a busy one for us. On Sat, we attended Zach's Birthday Party at Laguna golf & Country Club. It was a great place to hold party. Very comfy place and food was served by staffs. Mummy love the lasagna and pasta that Aunty Kathleen catered. For Claryce and I, we had fun too! We had attended a number of birthday parties and now whenever its time to sing birthday song, I will join in and sing while Claryce will clap her hands happily when she hears the song.

Its Ashlynne Birthday today. Was supposed to be held at chalet and at earlier date but Ashlynne contacted HFMD few weeks back so her party was postponed to today. A no. of Dec forum mummies were invited and we saw many familar faces. Yes, we had fun too and thanks for inviting us!

Wedding

This month is a month of weddings and Birthday Parties. 3 Weddings and 5 parties..

Georgie gu gu wedding is held today. After uploading the photos, mummy realise that she didnt take many photos of us... cos when we are awake, there's no time for photo taking as Aunty Yuli has to take care of Claryce while I am taken care by mummy. Papa? He is not in town.. will be coming back next Sunday.

ROM

Glen Gu Gu finally held his ROM with Adeline on 12 Dec 2009. Today is the day we have been waiting for a long time. The couple has been dating for 8 years and is finally married. This date is also a special date for mummy cos its the date when mummy and papa got ROM 5 years back. We were indeed very happy for the couple and blessed to have Adeline as a family member.

ELMO

Mummy promised me that she will bring me to see Elmo again cos I wanna take a photo with Elmo. We didnt manage to go early the last time when the show was at Causeway Point. Only the first 30 families are eligible to meet and greet Elmo. As such, this time round we better be early to qualify for the meet and greet session. 1st 30 families.. hmm.. what time do we need to be there for the 4pm show? Hopefully its not like 2hrs before the show..

We reached there at 245pm (I was asleep then). the queue was long but there is a chance we can qualify for the meet & greet session.

After 45 mins of queuing, we finally managed to get the meet & greet sticker pass. Yeah!

We enjoyed the show very much ....

BARNEY

Today's we are supposed to head down to Northpoint with Aunty Katrina, the triplets and Ethan, to see Elmo again cos I wanna meet & greet Elmo and friends. So, with much joy, we headed down to Northpoint.

To our disappointment, the show was cancelled as there was gas leakage in the building. Feeling very disappointed, mummy decided to bring us down to United Square to see Barney instead.

The queue to meet & greet Barney was very long. Seem quite ridiculous to start queuing at 5pm for the 7pm show. There were already many others who started to queue and at 5pm when we queued, we were already the 40th shopper (Limited to first 50 shoppers with min spending of $30 in a single receipt)

Mummy cant believe that she actually queued 3x to watch Barney show today. First was the queue to get the meet & greet pass. Second was the queue to enter the stage area to watch the show. Third was to meet & greet Barney & Friends.. What a long long wait..

Ear Piercing

I had my ear pierced today. Gong gong has always asked me if I wan to wear ear rings and I would reply Yes. It was kind of unplanned to have my ears pierced today though gong gong has always mentioned it. So I was unprepared for this. We went to people's park to meet Glen gu gu and Adeline Jie Jie after they got their marriage cert. Since we are at 3rd Aunty jewellery shop, gong gong asked if I wan to have my ears pierced and I happily told him Yes again. So, after a few mins, my ear studs were already on my ear. Mummy commented I am a brave girl tho I did cry f0r a few minutes.

Sesame Street Musical Show

Since Mummy got me 3 Elmo pyjamas months back, I started to like Elmo. Any items that have Elmo character in it, I would love to have it. That's my current favourite cartoon character. When mummy knew there is a Sesame Street show at Causeway point, she brought us there to see my favourite ELMO!

Yes, indeed was a nice and enjoyable show. I danced and singed along with the music.

HI5 Show

Thanks to Aunty Katrina for queuing and bringing us in to see the HI5 show. I always love to see HI5 on DVDs and since they are in Singapore, mummy brings us to Taka to see them live in action. Today's event was for Taka card members. Though the queue was long, Aunty Katrina managed to secure a pass for photo taking session with Hi5. After watching the half hour muscial show, we had the chance to have photo taking session with HI5. But at that time, mummy was alone with Claryce and me (as only one parent is allowed) and Claryce was getting impatient as the area was very crowded with adults and children, we didnt wanted to queue again for the photo taking. So we left as I also told mummy that I am scared to take photo with Hi5.

Claryce's 1st Year Birthday Party was held on 28 Nov' 09. It was a busy 1 hour decorating the Lounge room for Claryce's 1st Year Birthday Party. We have only an hour prior to the guests arrival. From bringing down our toys and mats to putting up the banners and decoratives, these took quite a while. Lucky it was just in time for our first guest arrival.

Meet the Parents' Day

Its the time of the year - Meet the teachers' day for mummy. Once every semester, time will be allocated for parents to meet our teachers to discuss on our progress. So far, I am progressing well and will be going up to pre nursery class next year. That means I will not have Teacher Sheerena and Yang Lao Shi to teach me. Gonna miss them next year!

This morning I woke up grouchy, didnt want to get my clothes change. Neither do I want to take breakfast. Mummy observed that I dun seem to be feeling well. When we were in the centre, I vomitted. So I got changed. After vomitting, I seem to be fine. I was playing with mei mei in the play area and also doing worksheet with my friends in the classroom.

My Book, My Names

Mummy bought these writing books few months back but has forgotten about it until recently she saw it in the book shelf.

Anything special about this book? My English and Chinese names are printed on the books which I can learn to write. But first of all, I need to master writing the alphabets. So shall keep these books and when mummy thinks I am ready, I will then practise writing.

Party and More Parties

Today is a busy day for us. There were 2 birthday parties for us to attend. Bryan and Yu qi both had their 1st yr bday celebration today. We headed to Bryan birthday party, followed by Yu qi's party. Yummy food, cakes, bouquets of balloons, helium balloons, children's play area : bouncer with ball pit, tunnel climber, climb and slide, rocker.. indeed a birthday party for the kids.

Bryan's 1st Year Birthday Party. Theme: Mickey and Friends. The fondant cake and cupcakes were made by Bryan's mummy. Impressive right?! Birthday Boy, Bryan, trying to reach for the helium balloons.

Aunty Adeline rented this inflatable safari falls ball for the kids. The kids really had a great time.

Yu Qi 1st Year Birthday Party. Theme: Hello Kitty. Notice Yu qi and Claryce wore the same design and colour shoes. Hee..

Aunty Joyce rented the rocker, climb and slide and tunnel climber. These really kept the kids occupied and parties were never so fun before. We had an enjoyable time @ the party!

Its such a great idea to rent the toys for the party. Mummy is thinking of bringing down the jumperoo, bounce and spin zebra, pony bouncer to the party area on that day but seeing the rented toys in both birthday parties, its even a better idea.

Thanks Aunty Adeline and Aunty Joyce for inviting us to your birthday parties. We enjoyed ourselves on that day!

Party Planning

We will be holding Claryce's 1st year birthday party on 28 Nov (Sat). Theme of her party is MINNIE! Why this theme? Cos Claryce is born in the year of rat. Moreover, Hello Kitty and Strawberry Shortcake theme were already used in my birthday party.

Party deco and balloons were ordered from overeseas spree (more variety) and local online store Kidzpartystore (Hassle Free). Most of the details were looked into and mummy had been spending quite abit on this party. Expenditure on balloons and deco added up to $300.90. Oops!

It was a sunny late afternoon when we reached Raffles Marina. After half an hour, the sky turned grey and started pouring. When we were there, mei mei and I took turns to sleep. Neither did we have a closer look at the beautiful yatchs nor walk down the long path leading to the sea where fishing takes place.

Claryce 3rd and LAST Breast Milk Spa

Claryce is turning one soon and its about time to wean her off breast milk. As Aunty Joyce shared that Yu qi took 2 weeks to get accustomed to breast milk, mummy was worried Claryce may not like formula milk. As such, mummy introduced FM to her last month and she only drank a sip, struggled and refused FM. It went on for 4 weeks. Claryce didnt want FM but only Breast Milk! Mummy was very worried at that time cos she cant possibly breastfeed her for few years. (Very tiring). Only lately she had FINALLY accepted FM.

As mummy had diligently pumped milk for Claryce's intake, there were packets of frozen milk unused and some have expired. Instead of throwing the packets of milk, Claryce used them to bathe.

This will be the last time Claryce had her milk bath as mummy decided to stop breastfeeding when she turned one yr old on 28 Nov. Hmm.. mummy is used to her routine of pumping milk for Claryce and will definitely miss this routine. (Mummy must be crazy right?)

There are always good buys from Big Mattel Toy sale. From the previous sale. Mummy bought musical potty and some toys for Claryce. The prices are much cheaper than retail price. So comes again this warehouse sale, so how can we miss it. Coincidently, Aunty Joyce sms mummy if she wants to get anything from the sale as she will be making a trip to Tuas area. Mummy thought of getting this 'zebra' for Claryce some time back when she saw it at Isetan. But at that time, it was too heavy for her to bring it back so she decided to wait for another trip when papa is back. Since Aunty Joyce will be there, mummy has asked her to help to purchase this 'zebra'.

Bounce and Spin Zebra can keep Claryce entertained. It plays five songs and can bounce and turn 360 degrees. There is a ball in the center which spins with lights and plays music too.

Retail price is $169. Sale price is $100! Savings of $69! :)

Thanks to Aunty Joyce for helping to buy this bounce and spin zebra It must be really heavy to carry it back.

It has been quite some time mei mei and I go swimming. The last time when mummy brought us to swimming, Claryce didnt enjoy the water in the pool. This time round, she seems to have an enjoyable time.

These days Claryce will nod her head and shake her head if we say Yes Yes and No No. When she nods her head, she will swing her head forward. When she shakes her head, she will shake left and right continuously and we always have a good laugh.

Samsung Event

As part of the Samsung Flagship Store re-opening celebration, there is a free print for little ones, taken professionally in their themed studio in the store @ Vivo City. Mummy has plans to go there to have Claryce's photo taken as she likes the themed studio, very similar to Sean Lau Photography. But she didnt confirmed until on that day.

The event was at 3 to 5pm. Claryce took her nap at 12pm and woke up at 130pm, had her lunch and the time was just right. Mummy decided to bring her there since she had taken her nap and eaten.

At Samsung Shop, Claryce saw her friends: Clarice, Daniel and Cidney. There was a play area where the babies can sit down, crawl and play with the toys. These are her friends in the photo below:

Got a free print. The photo is not so clear as mummy took this photo from the print, thus the blurish effect. The photo with many bears is taken professionally by a freelance photographer while the ones Claryce is in the basket are taken using mummy's camera.

School is having festive celebration today. Its deepavali celebration. Other than wearing ethnic costume or party wear to school on festive occassions, we also did art and craft based on the festival.

Mummy bought this punjabi suit and bangles for me. Last night when i tried it on, I like it very much, telling mummy I gonna wear it to school.
